Virtus.pro emerged victorious from the first Pinnacle Fall Series tournament on Wednesday, besting Copenhagen Flames, FaZe, and SKADE in series on the way to the title as one of the teams directly invited to the playoffs stage.
The Dzhami "Jame" Ali-led side left the other favorites, FaZe, BIG and Spirit, behind after they eliminated Finn "karrigan" Andersen's team themselves in the semi-finals, while BIG and Spirit fell to SKADE in the Bulgarian team's surprise run to the grand final.
Virtus.pro picked up a smaller title at Pinnacle Fall Series 1
Despite their impressive run throughout the event, the squad around Georgi "SHiPZ" Grigorov could not contest Virtus.pro in the title decider. The CIS side woke up after being down 2-8 on Overpass to clinch the series with relative ease from then on, winning the opener 16-11 and the following Dust2 16-8 without much trouble.
